2017 ACTIVITIES

In 2017 the Banco Central de Timor-Leste (BCTL) celebrated the third anniversary of National Savings Day in Oe-Cusse Ambeno Special Administrative Region (RAEOA). The Minister of Education and Culture, the acting President of the RAEOA, representatives from commercial banks, teachers and students elementary schools took part in the celebration.





On 27 November, the BCTL in coordination with the RAEOA Authority, particularly, the Directorate of Education organised educational activities around the theme “Save now for a better future’’. Eight elementary schools joined the drawing, speech and poetry activities.

The National Road show for the Financial Education Program was officially launched during the 2017 National Savings Day ceremony. The road show aims to visit many villages to inform people about the benefits of savings, and encourage them to change their spending habits and increase their financial security.



On the following day, representatives from BCTL, commercial banks, and local authority continued the educational campaign in three administrative posts, Pante Makasar, Oesilo, and Nitibe, promoting the children’s Savings account “Ha’u-Nia Futuru”. 
During two days of activity total of 151 new “Ha’u-Nia Futuru” accounts were opened. The road show activities will continue in others Municipalities during 2018.
