Banco Central de Timor Leste (BCTL) in 2018 was visited by the NGO MOVE which own by Portuguese. The visit as part of Global money week celebration. During the visit BCTL used this opportunity to disseminates information about the importance of financial literacy for children and young people. Total group visitor that accompanied for the event were 40 peoples consisting of children and youth.
BCTL introduce the importance of planning of saving in early ages in order protect their future for better life. Additionally, at the same time introduce the currency of Timor-Leste currently adopt. Finally, at the end of the session conducted mini tour in BCTL office to the children and youth to see working environments in Central bank office.
2019 Timor-Leste, Global Money Week
Year of 2019 Banco Central deTimor-Leste (BCTL) organized event of global money week by continue promoting Hau Nia Future Account to several schools located in Dili and Liquica.
The ‘Global Money Week’ (GMN) is an initiative that aims to increase and encourage awareness of children and young people on ‘monetary’ matters. BCTL engaged with commercial banks celebrate the celebration of GMN by visiting indicated schools to inform and share information about the account of“Hau Nia Futuru.” Central bank and banks visited to the elementary schools such as EBC Farol, EBC Auxiliadora Comoro, EBF Mauboge Liquica, EBC Casait Liquica and Taibesi school.
